BASIC CHIEF EXPORT CODES – TRADE INFORMATION 

PRE-LODGED ENTRIES:

P2 – Entry Pre-Lodgement Advice (goods pre-lodged awaiting “arrival”)

P9 – Entry Deletion Warning (goods not arrived)

 CHIEF REPORTS:

X1 – Customs Examination Advice (notifies of a customs hold)

X2 – Entry Acceptance Advice (notifies permission to proceed)

  ENTRY ROUTES: (ROE)

H – Applies to pre-lodged entries (not yet “arrived” into Customs Control)

0 – Route not yet known

1 – Documents to be checked by Customs

2 – Documents and goods to be examined by Customs

3 – Permission to Progress – subject to post clearance checks

6 – Permission to Progress – no post clearance checks

 STATUS of ENTRY (SOE) CODES:

D – Returned or Withdrawn (Departed back Inland)

2 – Detained by Customs

3 – Queried by Customs

7 – Permitted to Progress

8 – Departed from UK

9 – Terminated – cancelled, seized, destroyed, released to Queens Warehouse

 INTERROGATION TRANSACTIONS:

DCON – Display Consignment details

LTUE – List Traders Un-cleared Entries

 OTHER TRANSACTIONS:

AEAL – Notify Arrival

AEDL – Notify Departure

AEAC – Associate (disassociate) Entry and Close

  

NB – when Route 1 or Route 2 entries are given permission to proceed by HMRC the ROE does NOT change in CHIEF. It is the status of the entry that updates SOE = 7.

 

A Route 3 consignment does have permission to proceed for export but, the Declarant must follow up with Document checks for post clearance audit to NCH
